We found out today that one of my Dad's best friends has died. Uncle Bob (he was not really an uncle, but we called him that b/c he and Dad were close friends), has always been part of our extended family. He came to weddings, funerals and would come over for holidays. Dad was friends with Uncle Bob since before either of them got married. They were both proud ex-Marines.
I remember Aunt Mary saying that things like this happen in threes--considering that this is the third death in my family this year, I hope she was right.
